ANTIQUE FURNITURE SALE
June 22 & 23
8:30am - 4:30pm
5192 Catherine Street, Dorchester

Our old friend and good neighbour Ken has discovered furniture restoration and has completed enough antique furniture pieces to have a sale.
Anyone who knows Ken knows how meticulous he is and knows that each piece of furniture will be as near to perfect as it can get.
He has dining room tables, bedroom dresser with mirrors, armoires... and more.

Ken's place is 3km east of Dorchester.
Follow Catherine Street to Elgin Road (Hwy. 73), turn left to go over the tracks, then turn a quick right to carry on east along Catherine Street.
His place is the third house on the left.

CONCRETE RHUBARB LEAF
STEPPING STONES & BIRDBATHS

I watched Doreen do this for me a few years ago so this year I wanted to do my own.
Deb joined me and by the end of one afternoon we each had 6 leaf castings.
We mixed one part Portland Cement to one part industrial sand and then watered and mixed it to a thick consistency.

There are lots of directions on the web ... Making a Sand-Cast Birdbath is a good site.
Wear gloves and old clothes doing this!

I spied this red-bellied woodpecker on the wartie birdfeeder the other day.
Barb (from Stoney Creek) had a great bird book in her living room... a book full of detailed pictures of North American birds, and information about them, and ... get this... a sound track that lets you hear each bird's call. I drove over to CostCo last week and got one for myself.
Now I am amused by sitting out on the back porch, playing the robin's song over and over and watching the robins' confusion.
Small minds....
